I went back and installed a no-hole ferrule and get a passing air/water check (I assume this rules out the MS interface), but when installing a column to the MS interface with the other end capped, the air/water check fails.
Otis,
This is the reply from Engineering:
the connection refused error indicates that the A-Plus server is not reachable, this can happen for two reasons:
The server has gone into error, in this case it is possible to launch A-plus from a dos…
Hello, I am looking for some advice on how to troubleshoot a small air leak in a 7010 triple quad. The leak is small enough that using an an air can at several of the check points can't detect a leak. So far I changed the side plate o-rings, vent valve…
Instrument: 7890 GC modified for gas injection with a 10-port valco valve. It's dual SS inlet, dual detector FID/TCD.
I have installed some components into the AUX bracket, two heating components into AUX 1 and AUX 2, and a valve actuator in V1. Valve…
In the ChemStation calibration table you can set Peak Qualifiers when using multiple signals. The ratio of the signals is calculated and compared for each compound. In the classic report this is then used also for peak identification. I tried building…
We are using EZChrom and two separate samples, so as to increase throughput and to limit solvent use. 7890A/7683/7683 ALS with dual FID. Thanks, Charles
I’m having problems with my injector. It will move up and down to the seat with no problem but will throw an error and not move down to a sample vial. Errors “Command from COSY list rejected (EE 4080,3061)” “Needle down failed (EE 4018, 16)” Also if you…
GC Inlet Maintenance
Find links and part numbers to the consumables used in the video here.
GC Septum
Inlet septa are used to maintain a leak-free seal at the GC inlet, even after repeated injections.
If the septum has a dimple, the dimple…
We have been using an Agilent 7890B GC-MS with FID TCD equipped with an autosampler (ALS) for analysing liquid hydrocarbon samples. I would like to analyse gaseous samples of CO, CO2 and H2 in the future. Is it possible to manually inject gas samples…
