This Information Applies To: 2100 Bioanalyzer, 2100 Expert software Issue The Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system electropherograms in the Agilent 2100 Expert software have a wavy, uneven baseline ( Figure 1 ). Figure 1. Wavy, uneven baseline on Bioanalyzer electropherograms The error is most often associated with: Problems during chip priming Dirty electrodes Moisture on the electrodes Sample contamination The sample concentration being higher than the assay's range Liquid spillage...
  • Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer Error: Run Aborted on Port x, Unusual High or Low Voltage

This Information Applies To: 2100 Bioanalyzer, 2100 Expert software Issue The Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system run ends prematurely and the following error appears in the logbook: Run aborted on port x. Instrument error occurred on port x, Unusual high or low voltage or current was detected during the start phase of the on-chip analysis. The marked wells will indicate the wells on the chip that caused the problem. An example of the error is shown in Figure 1 . The error is most often associated...
  • Troubleshooting Late Migration on the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer System

This Information Applies To: 2100 Bioanalyzer system, 2100 Expert software Issue: How to identify and troubleshoot late migration of the ladder, marker, and sample peaks in data generated on the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system. Background The ladder, marker, and sample peaks in the affected run take considerably longer to migrate compared to the peaks in the demo file of the same assay type. Late migration is usually accompanied by errors, similar to the ones shown in Figure 1 . These...
  • How To Use and Configure Early Maintenance Feedback (EMF) on the Agilent 8890/8860 GC Systems

This Information Applies To: Agilent 8890/8860 GC Systems Issue Early Maintenance Feedback is a useful feature on Agilent GC Systems and software that allows a user to monitor the maintenance needed on their GC. This feature allows for users to get a reminder that maintenance is due on their instrument before it causes a chromatography or even a hardware issue. If you are changing parts on your GC on a scheduled basis, either based on a certain passing of time or a specific number of injections...

Maintenance of the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer System Chip Priming Station

Answer

This Information Applies To: 2100 Bioanalyzer, Bioanalyzer Chip Priming Station: part number 5065–4401

Maintenance procedures and how frequently they are required:

Procedure Time interval Or if this issue occurs

Where to find a detailed description in the Maintenance and Troubleshooting Guide

Replacing the syringe Usually with each new kit, or at least every three months. However, due to the current unavailability of syringes, only if the seal test fails. Priming performance is not affected as long as the seal test passes. Syringe is broken or seal test fails Page 133 (please note previously mentioned changes)
Cleaning or replacing the syringe adapter Every three months Adapter is clogged with dried gel, or damaged Page 136
Replacing the gasket Every three months Gasket is damaged, torn, or contaminated with dried gel Page 137
Checking the chip priming station for proper seal Every four weeks Gasket, syringe adapter, or syringe was replaced Page 139

Steps to follow:

Please find detailed descriptions for every procedure as referenced earlier in this Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer System Maintenance and Troubleshooting Guide, pages 131-140.

Please find all the steps in the following video (Figure 1) or in original size on our webpage via this link:
