does a report created in CDS Openlab 2.4 work with CDS Openlab 2.3?

IR reports are not designed to be backwards compatible, so you will get an error message if you try and open them in an older version. Now depending on what objects you used the report might work in the older version but the template has versioning that the software checks. It is possible to edit the raw rdl file and change the RTE version to allow it to open in as older version. The problem is if you used an object that was not supported in the older version you may have issues.

Thanks. Fingers crossed the reports will work in the older version. There shouldn't be any problem with them (2.4) working in the newer (2.5) version then?

Yes 2.4 reports will work in 2.5. Reports templates should always be compatible moving up in revisions.
