SCAN/SIM MODE IN MSD 5977A/B

Dear Sirs,

How can I set up for scan/sim mode for the defined time in total Chromatogram. For examples, total run time is 20 minutes but I want to get scan/sim data only from 7 minutes to 10 minutes as the retention time of the analyzed substance in this time?

For starting from 7 minutes is ok using solvent delay but I don't know to to stop at 10 minutes.

You add a new SIM Group starting at 10min. Use the default mass and dwell of 1ms. By adding this new SIM group you stop the first SIM group when this on starts.

Thank you Ron Tackett for your reply. Is there no way in method set-up for stopping data acquisition at 10min (Filament saving, Detector saving, etc)?

If you just want the ms to quit acquiring data but still want the GC to keep ramping, then on the acquisition page for the MS parameters, add a Timed Event "MS Off" at 10 minutes. I
