chem station failed to initalize

using ChemStation for HPLC 1260 infinity.  Get the "ChemStation failed to initialize and will shut down" error.  Already tried renaming the user.config file and it still did not work. any help would be appreciated. using Windows 7

  • yes the current user is QA. here is what we are currently looking at. dont know which version of chemstation. do you know how i would find out? thanks!

  • You can determine the software revision by running the Software Verification Tool (might also be called the Installation Qualification Tool depending on the version). 

     

    If deleting the user.config file did not work, then the next thing to try would be to reset the instrument's configuration files as outlined below: 

     

    To solve this issue you must rename/delete the following files one after the other.

    Check after each step whether the problem is solved.

    1. Config.reg and Conf_off.reg
    2. RapidControlInstrumentConfig.xml
    3. ChemStationPer InstrumentSettings.config
    4. Instrument.config

    You’ll find them all in

    “Chem32/InstNo/”

    or in case it is ChemStation C.01.08 or higher in

    “Program Data/Agilent Technologies/ChemStation/InstNo”
