Agilent 1290 Infinity II ELSD G7102A Communication question

Question

I would like to ask if there is a difference in connection quality between the Communication Ethernet and RS232 for Agilent 1290 Infinity II ELSD G7102A? Which one is better?

Both are fine. It depends on what's available. Many modern PCs don't have a serial port any longer. A USB converter can be used, but it should be a good-quality one. At Agilent we offer a tested one. Serial communication might sound a little old-fashioned, but we're not talking about fast data rates of 240 Hz, spectra etc. Furthermore no network switch is required. So, if you do have a serial port on your PC, I would go for RS232 communication.
