Connecting one column to a FID and MSD, is that possible?

We want to connect the output of one column to a splitter and then connect the outputs of the splitter to an MSD and a FID. Is that possible? The MSD worksin vacuum and FID toatmospheric pressure, then the effluent will be sucked by the MSD and there will be no effluent goingto the FID. Is that so?

The G3181-60500 is an unpurged two-way splitter and will work on any Agilent GC. There will need to be a restrictor installed between the splitter and the MS that is different than the one between the splitter and the FID since the MS is under vacuum. 
 G3181-90120_045611.pdf (agilent.com) and see page 26. It's important to use a splitter that only allows the recommended column flow into the MS, 0.8 to 1.4 ml/min, as too little or two much flow is not optimal. You can put 4 ml/min into a turbo pumped MSD, but the source will not be happy.
