Has anyone been having issues with the InfinityLab Poroshell 120 EC-C18 columns (PN 696975-302)?

Has anyone been having issues with the InfinityLab Poroshell 120 EC-C18 columns (PN 696975-302)? We ordered one, and tried our daily check solution on it but the results did not look like what we normally see. We also observed that the starting column pressure was lower (165 bar), and went really low (25 bar) as the gradient switched to more organic mobile phase. We asked for and received a replacement column, and that one worked as expected for about 3 weeks. Today we saw the same problem with the daily check. We checked for leaks, but did not find any. We have the same column on another instrument that has been functioning normally for months now. Has anyone else been having issues with these columns? Any ideas what could be causing this? Hello,

We do not show a column with part number 696975-302. There is a part number 693975-302 InfinityLab Poroshell 120 EC-C18, 3.0 x 150 mm, 2.7 µm, solvent saver LC column. Can you let us know the column you are having difficulty with?

Thanks for the response. My error - the correct part number is 695975-302, Poroshell 120 EC-C18, 3 x 100 mm, 2.7 um. We did have some success back flushing the column with 50:50 acetonitrile/water for several hours - the column is now functioning normally. I was surprised at first as we had been using this as one of our workhorse columns for some time now without any problems. I did flush it with mobile phase at normal flow rate for 3-4 hours,perhaps I needed to equilibrate it longer. I was just curious if anyone else had seen this.

Could you let us know some serial numbers/lot numbers of the columns that performed to expectations and the latest batch that wasn't working as expected?

The lot we have been using for most of this year is lot B18098. The lot that did not work as expected was B19135. Lot B19218 initially worked normally, then the results looked like lot B19135. I back flushed lot B19218 with 50:50 acetonitrile/water, and the column performed normally (perhaps just had something built up on it). We have not had any problems with lot B19218 since. I hope this helps.

The factory would like to repeat the experiment with retained production samples for those lots. They are asking for details about the application.
