This Webinar focuses on the challenges in progressing from High Vacuum (approx. 10^-8 Torr) to Ultra-High Vacuum (below 10^-9 Torr) Pressure. Ion Pumps and Cryo-Molecular pumps are discussed in detail, as are the modifications to High Vacuum Gauges that extend their range into UHV pressures. Cleaning and surface treatment of components is discussed, along with techniques and tips in ‘baking’ vacuum systems (a necessity for achieving UHV pressures).
