Disabling Method Editing in Chemstation

Hello,

Is there a way to lock down methods and make them uneditable except by administrators in Chemstation to prevent operators from making changes to a master method? I know there's a method audit trail feature but I'm looking for something that is password-protected or requires extra steps to be able to modify the method.

You didn't mention which version of Chemstation. In OpenLab Chemstation (C.01.xx) you can set user permissions in OpenLab Control Panel. If it's set for user logins, you can specify the permissions each user has. There is more information in the Administration guide included with the software. An older version can be found at https://www.agilent.com/Library/usermanuals/Public/CDS_Admin_A.02.02.pdf. Look specifically at the sections for Authentication Provider, Security Policy, and User Management.
