We recently moved from Chemstation C.01.07 to Openlab CDS 2.6. In the older software we were able to create and edit the calibration table in terms of amounts and area i.e. manually type numbers in for both. Is there a way to do the same in CDS?

You can edit the level amounts in the method but you cannot directly edit the areas. The only way to change the areas is from processing results.

Was this changed going from Chemstation B.xx.xx/C.xx.xx going to OL CDS to better integrate compliance with GLP? If so, is there going to be an update/upgrade possible to opt out from this when installing the software? Will editing the calibration table as you could in Chemstation ever be possible in CDS?

Yes, I am sure it was done for data integrity and compliance reasons. I do not believe manual changes will be allowed in the calibration cureve beyond the current ability to disable points. Why do you need to manually edit the areas in the calibration?

We run a lot of our GCs with Polyarcs (methanizers) and FID responses can be theoretically calculated. While upgrading the software and importing chemstation methods, the calibration table did not get imported. If I could manually edit the calibration table then that would have been a solution but since it is not, it becomes a bit tedious to run calibration standards for every species in the sample matrix of which there are more than 30.

If you have static response factors you can just change the mode to manual factor and then enter the RFs.
