Sample_Description in CC-s

Looks like you're using OpenLab CDS.  You're right, Sample_Description isn't available for custom calculations.  I guess that this is because of the intended use of this field for a text description of the sample, not for the storage of numbers to be used in custom calculations.

I would recommend creating Sample Custom Parameters in your project and use these in your custom calculations.

Hi Andy!

I don't want to store any numbers/values in the description field, it's only used for giving details for the samples about it's storage conditions/stability parameters (the sample ID can be the same for lot of samples, but in different temp/humidity/etc)  I want a CC which can use the descriprion field & sample id to identificate the correct sample in my sequence. Right now, it's working only with sample labels :)

Now I understand.  I think that sample labels are exactly the right tool for the job that you're doing!
