Does a repair of A-Line Quick Connect Fitting is possible, when capillary is broken?
Yes, you can remove the capillary and install a new one. Please contact LC-COLUMN-SUPPORT@agilent.com to get detailed instructions on how to do this.
The capillary can get pulled-off from the fitting and a new capillary can get installed.
Typically you also should directly replace the ferrule (p/n 5043-0924) as it usually is already slightly squeezed and therefore it can be difficult to insert the new capillary.
Best is to pull-off the ferrule (use a tweezer and twist it-off) while the fitting is already without capillary.
Then insert the capillary (fitting without ferrule) until the PEEK adapter on the capillary fully snaps in.
Next step is to loosely put the ferrule onto the capillary tip.
Then just screw the fitting gently into a suitable counterpart like zero dead volume or column etc.
While doing this the ferrule will get connected with the fitting and afterwards will stay in place.
