Agilent Guard Columns

Dear team and forum,

Hi, may I ask a question about compatible guard columns for preparative or semi prep columns in our lab please? We are thinking about buying guard columns for the following two columns

  1. Eclipse XDB-C8, 5um, 9.4*250mm
  2. Eclipse XDB-C18, 7 um, 21.2*250mm

Are there any suggested guard column (with the right connection size) for of these two Agilent columns respectively?

Many thanks!

  • Hello Yuhang,

Looking at page 11 of the InfinityLab preparative LC brochure (Agilent InfinityLab Preparative LC Columns) it is maybe not directly clear which guard to choose for each of these two columns, though the following guards are the ones the customer can use:

    1. Eclipse XDB-C8, 5um, 9.4*250mm (= PN 990967-206)

Guard: PN 820212-926 (ZORBAX Eclipse XDB-C8, 15.8 x 10 mm, guard cartridge (PrepHT), 5 µm, 2/pk (use with end-fitting 820444-901, or standalone hardware kit 420420-901))

    2. Eclipse XDB-C18, 7 um, 21.2*250mm (= PN 977250-102)

    Guard: PN 820212-925 (ZORBAX Eclipse XDB 80Å C18, 15.8 x 10 mm guard cartridge (PrepHT), 5 µm, 2/pk (use with end-fitting 820444-901, or standalone hardware kit 420420-901))

I hope this answers your question.

    Best regards,

    Guido
