I am a corrosion engineer in a newly established HVAC reliability lab. I only have a basic understanding of GC/LC. I am now looking for GC/LC instrument for reliability/corrosion/material failure analysis purposes. There is possible analysis of refrigerants and lubricants commonly used in cooling units. There is possible analysis of natural or propane gas, and their products of combustion including condensates that may precipitate inside high efficiency heat exchangers. We also need to analyze air samples from buildings that have chronic heat exchanger corrosion problems. Can you please recommend me some LC & GC models? Do I need to add a MS for chemical analysis? Thanks.
