Custom Reports - Version Numbers

We'd like to use one of our report templates as the basis for a new template, but we don't want the version number to transfer. Is there a way to reset the version number?

I'm using the CDS 2 Intelligent Reporting in this example. The original post didn't specify which software was being used. In the screenshots below there is a custom report called Indirect Quant with 4 versions. When a new report template is created using Save As, the audit trail and version number will reset. There will be one audit trail entry identifying which report template was used to create the new report template.
