could someone please talk me through the power recycle for the MS 7900? I couldn't find that on the manual and I've gotten stuck a few times after power outages and other issues at the lab I work at.
What´s the problem you see. is the software of hardware hanging in an error? the best way to get a good connection and good behavior of the icpms is to shut down the software and start the software again if the icpms status lamp isn't blinking red anymore. then the icpms isn't booting up anymore and could the software connect without issues.
Thank you for your reply.
I had an issue yesterday where shut down the software and restarted the computer, when it came back on communication was lost and tried to bring it back online but it would say that it was already being used by another user and I checked on task manager and there was nothing from Mass hunter open. The other suggestion the error window gave was to do power recycle.
Another question, is there a problem dojng power recycle with plasma on? As in that instance plasma was on and because I couldn't bring the instrument back online I couldn't shut it off.
Due to external issues like electrical power down the icpms is protected.so if the power is lost the hardware shouldn't harm. However if the software is in read/write action there could something going weird with the software.
This could give weird message like the "in use" message. Two questions in between, is a CFR software like a UAC or database running on this pc. And how is the icpms lan cable connected, directly to the pc or trough the network?
if the error or message is coming back after a full power cycle of the icpms and pc you can reset the software with a program. However this program reset also you settings of MassHunter (not the batch settings).
please contact you local Agilent service department if you want to reset the software.
One advice, please use a Uninterruptible Power Supply to keep the pc and icpms operating if you face many electrical power dips.
