How do I generate a report using MassHunter Unknowns Analysis that I can import into Promium Element LIMS?
The only options for Report Builder templates are pdf, txt, and csv. The publishing format can be chosen in the Report Method Editor on the Templates tab.
There may be a few options to consider, depending on the revision of Quant/UA you have installed and the types of input files supported by your LIMS.
If you have Excel installed and configured then you will have the choice of outputting reports as xlsx, pdf, txt, or csv. While Excel templates do still ship with quant it is more for legacy support. If this is a new setup I would suggest using one of the following options, if available.
If you have a newer version that supports Report Builder templates you can choose from pdf, txt, or csv.
Finally, for the Python based PDF-Reporting templates the output is determined by the template itself and can be seen by checking the extension of the destination file in the report method. Typical options are pdf, csv, and maybe xml, but that last one may only be for one or two of the quant templates.
I have report builder. It appears to focus on creating PDF files.
How do I use it to create a .csv, .txt, .xls, .xlsx file?
I don't have those options in my report editor, the output is greyed out. When I use an older xlsx template I get failure to generate report select Error: please specify one batch IDIs it possible I'm missing a template or the one I use to generate PDF reports has a switch turned off that doesn't allow the other outputs?
EDIT - removed extra text from email reply
I found the template that has the drop-down choices, but now I have this error
I found a combination of a stock unknown method and stock template to generate .txt files, the .csv file option gives me an error, even though it generates the .csv file.
I prefer to use my calibration units (ng) for the column estimated concentration.
I received help on how to change it on the PDF only generating .xml template.
It's like starting over again to customize this standard format file.
How do I change the column heading to Estimated Mass (ng)? Should I make a new post?
I think you may have a few different things occurring. Based on not being able to use the Excel templates and the errors from trying to open csv files it looks like you may not have a compatible version of Excel installed or configured.
For the csv error, by default Windows does not have an application assigned to open csv files, so UA would be able to create a csv file but you would receive an error when trying to open it automatically. To avoid the error try deselecting the option to Open published file in the Templates section of the Report Method Editor.
To change the column heading in a Report Builder template, select the column header you want to change, right click and choose Textbox Properties... By default the shipping templates use the Field caption as read from the UA or Quant database. You can make this use whatever text you want by choosing the Text option and then enter whatever text you would like displayed for that column.
