Hi, i'm using an Agilent 1260, G1311C pump.
The instrument is displaying an error massage for the Quat. pump - servo restart failed Not ready condition: Drive off
Please tell me how can i do ?
I fully agree with what kbusch wrote. If it turns out that there's neither a blockage, nor an overtightened pump head, it might be a bad or disconnected cable, or, in worst case, a broken pump drive or a faulty main board.
After a PM, I would always suggest to verify that the plungers can move, by pressing onto the plunger base against the springs.
If you have just gotten this error after maintenance, you may have overtightened the pumphead onto the drive. Loosen the two screws an eight of a turn and try again to initialize. Don't forget to check for leaks.
The error can also arise because of a blockage in the system. You can loosen the inlet valve and try to initialize the pump. Most likely this is the reason behind the error.
If it is not from maintenance or from a blockage, there could be a problem with the mechanical parts. In that scenario it is best to contact Agilent for service.
See page 110 of the user manual. https://www.agilent.com/cs/library/usermanuals/public/G1311-90015_QuatPump-C_USR_EN.pdf
Thank you so much kbusch.
So i think the error massages cause Pump Drive or MCGV(Multi Channel Gradient Valve).
how about you ?
Probably a blockage in the pump head. If it is the mechanics, then the pump drive would be the culprit. It wouldn't be the MCGV.
I have also seen this caused by a stuck outlet valve after the system was left in buffer. You can try removing the outlet valve and restarting the pump to determine if this is the cause.
