I'd like to set up integration events instead of peak summing. When I use peak summing I have to manually calculate the RF, I'd like Agilent to do this for me and report the results.
What software product are you running and what is the revision that you have installed? You can determine both of these by going to either Help>About or File>About.
We are using Openlab, Rev c.01.07....

Would you mind clarifying your question? Do you need help setting up an Area Sum integration events so that multiple peaks are integrated together?
If that is the case then you just need to insert an Area Sum event into your integration events table and specify a time to begin the sum. Then insert a second Area Sum event and specify a time to end the sum. Once this is done then any peak eluting between the two Area Sum events will be integrated as one peak. This peak can then be added to the calibration table just like any other peak.
Yes that’s what I’m trying to do…but I have two areas that I want summed…I put in two events with their corresponding start and stop times but the second event doesn’t “name” the lone peak in the window and the first one does…

As dheyaaldeen mentioned below, since the entire area sum is being integrated as one peak it will only be identified as one compound in your calibration table.
Thanks for the help, I added the two events (two area summing windows). With the standard I use I have a peak in each window and have added each to the calibration table. The RF calculates like I want it to but the compound name appears in the middle of the window and not on the lone peak, is this normal or is there a way to have it name the peak found in the window?
What you are describing sounds like the expected behavior.
Are you talking about the peak label on your report or in the signal window in ChemStation? If you are using an Intelligent Report template then you do have some control over where peak labels are displayed:
