Using MH qual b.06 for identifying compounds from scan data.
I can't see aboundance or area parameters after adding them..
Not sure what I've done wrong
Depending on the Find by algorithm used, the Abund and Area columns in the Compound List may not be calculated.
The Abund column is only reported for certain accurate mass and MS/MS find by functions.
The Area column is also only used for specific Find by algorithms, but if this is GCMS unit mass data then either Find by Integration or Find by Chromatogram Deconvolution should calculate and report an Area. If you are using one of those algorithms and not getting an Area in the Compound List then you could try resetting Qual's user preferences. In later versions there is a tool to do this, but in B.06.xx you will need to manually delete the files. Note that doing this will reset the layout to default, but will not delete any saved layouts. It will also resets things like last opened folders and table/column settings.
To do this, exit all copies of Qual. Then go to the following folder
where xxxxxxxx is your Windows user name. You may need to enable Show hidden files, folders, and drives under Folder Options to be able to see the AppData folder. Once you are in the QualDefinitions folder delete any folders that are there. You may have more than one depending on how many different versions of Qual you have had installed. Once you have deleted the folder(s), relaunch Qual and see if that resolves the issue of no Area being reported.
Thank you very much for the info, it is very helpful.
I will notice it for next time..
Meanwhile I found a "work around" - I can use the "integration peak list" to find the area and the % of total area (which is exactly what I needed) parameters, I just copy paste to excel and match the columns,, of course it would be less trouble to have it in the same table
