LC Signal vs Spectra Acquisition

Hi, I have a few questions about using OL 2.3 with LC and using the Signal mode of acquisition as opposed to the Spectra mode. say I'm using the Signal mode at 255nm with a bandwidth setting of 10 does that mean that wavelengths between 245 nm to 255nm are being collected or is it only the 255nm signal that's being monitored?

I notice that using  Signal mode has really reduced the noise in the chromatogram what other possible effects could use of signal mode have on peak response (area/height), detection of small peaks?

Finally, it seems a silly question but is it possible to do peak purity evaluation if data is acquired in signal mode?

Thanks
