I have testet the reproducibility for the G4513A automatic liquid sampler (ALS) against older GC liquid injector models, G1513A and G2613A. The conclusion is that the G4513A ALS does not reproduce the injections quite as good as both the older G1513A and G2613A models.
Injections were done using on-column injections on 530 µm wide bore capillary columns. 5 and 10 µL injection needles wew used and 0.1, 0.2, 0.5 and 1.0 µL injection volumes. Especially using low injection amounts, the G4513A ALS cannot compeed with the older injectors.
I know others have done similar ALS tests, with the same discouraging results ... I have an idea that the way the G4513A sampler measures out the amount of liquid to be injected does not work as accurate as the simple mechanical system on the older sampler models ...
Does Agilent have a injection reproducibility test for the G4513A sampler?
And what can we expect of reproducibility for the G4513A sampler compared withe the older G1513A / G2613A models?
