UV/Vis 8453 not connecting to software

Hey all,

 

Had a power outage over the weekend, now the UV/Vis software will not load (shuts down within seconds of attempting to load).  Serendipitously we had an Agilent tech on site to repair another instrument.  He uninstalled-reinstalled the software and thought it was working, then left.  However upon loading the software and trying to run self test, we get an error that the spectrophotometer is not ready.  It appears that the UV/VIS software is not talking to the instrument.  It is a 8453 UV/Vis, software version B.05.04 [8]. 

 

How to get it connected properly??  Any help is appreciated as we use this instrument daily!
