The 2005 renderer from Microsoft does not support data items in header or footer. There are tons of discussions in the internet around that, The solution mostly provided is to reference to a field in the report body using such an expression:
This textbox has to display the value you want to have in the header or footer.
You might need to use a text editor to add this expression. I have not tried if the build-in expression editor deals with this expression correctly. I think the Textbox needs to appear on every page.
Related to the method printing: Could you append a small data set with the .macaml file in it. W/o data it's hard to recommend a solution.

Thank you for your fast reply.
Your suggested solution to reference to a field in the report body works fine; problem solved.
I was able to solve the second problem (filter method information field) by myself.
I had forgotten that you have to use a "*" in a "contains" expression to filter for a single word.
Unfortunately I must reopen this topic.
As you already wrote in your reply, the referenced TextBox has to be an every page that the solution works, so is there any possibility to repeat the TextBox automatically on every page?
Easily make a group and repeat the group by using the pagenumber doesn't work...
Our report consists of many different groups (repeated on different subjects), so it is not possible to repeat the desired TextBox with one specific group;

I have searched the web for "ssrs data in header" - and found 1000s of entries but all with basically the same solution, using a hidden text box, which is repeated on every page. This is what MS says to this: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd220421.aspx
It does not look like that there is a solution available. Agilent can't work around this since this restriction is build into the renderer.
Sorry I do not have a better answer right now. - Ralf
