Updating Openlab CDS GCMS before or after the GC and MS firmware update?

I want to upgrade my GCMS openlab cds 2.6 to 2.7 or 2.8 version. I don't know how to do that. Do you have a procedure somewhere? Did I have to perform MS and GC firmware before or after the Openlab Version upgrade?

Would it be better to update at 2.7 or directly at the 2.8 version ?

thank you

  • Are you currently using a version of CDS to run the GC/MS?  Or are you using MSD ChemStation?  I was under the impression that the upgrade of MSD ChemStation was MassHunter.

  • I was running with OpenlabCDS 2.6 and want to upgrade to the 2.7 version. I was told by Agilent Canada that my account used for the updating procedure wasn't a full privileges admin.

This situation stopped my updating at 95% with a failure at the CDS Register step.

I don't know what to do. big trouble here.

no more AQ and Data analysis.

I will check if I can found some online help.

All my drivers and firmware update went well.

  • Do you mean that you didn't have administrative privileges in Windows or on the Agilent site?  If it's the latter, I would expect Agilent should be able to resolve your issue and if it's the former, then you will need to login to your data station with an administrative account; if you don't have access you'll need to either find a workaround (there are some for older Windows versions) or maybe you'll have to fully re-install.
