Power Outage, now Openlab Aq and DA won't open but Control Panel will

Hey all our power went out this morning and since, we haven't been able to open the acquisition software, it just hang on the splash screen forever.  When we try Data analysis the splash screen opens then closes and software never opens.  In control panel it says HPLC Not Connected, but then if I try to Close Connection at the top it gives and error the HPLC is not active.

We were in the middle of a sequence when it happened.

1260 Infinity II with OpenLab 2.4 (which apparently isn't supported any more?)

I called Agilent and they had me run the Software verification tool which passed everything.

We've rebooted both computer and HPLC.  It seems to think the HPLC is still connected.

I am able to turn on the modules from Control Panel, but not open the other software.

Any ideas?? Emergency situation

  • Hello,

Look for the automation.log in C:\ProgramData\Agilent\LogFiles. You can open that log in notepad and look for any errors related to a firebird database or the secureworkarea. If you see any errors like that the secure work area database is corrupt. You would need to open a support ticket with your local Agilent support group, and they can help you recover the db or create a new one.

  • Hey all so this turned out to be caused by using Windows 10 home edition and the latest update ruins the database connection.  We have been doing a workaround for a bit - disabling windows update and if it accidentally updates we restore to an earlier date.  Now I have a backup laptop with the Openlab software on it to switch our license to however I can't configure the instrument.  I enter the IP and it won't ever detect it even though I have connected to ethernet and everything from the old computer.  Any ideas?

  • Hello,

Can you ping the instrument at the IP address for the instrument? If so, try turning off the firewall and see if it works with that shutoff.

  • Hey ok so I called Agilent and got some instructions.  We had to set our network adapter to a static IP.  But even following their instructions and the online instructions they have here it would no talk.  It turned out we had to set the network adapter to a DIFFERENT IP than the default for the Infinity II 1260 (192.168.254.11).  Lol all fixed and running now. Weirdly when I called they told me to follow the instructions on here which said to set the adapter IP to the same as the HPLC internal LAN card.  That doesn't work obviously.
