Hi I've recently been using a GC (7890B) with Chemstation (Rev. C.01.09 [144]) for analysis, and I occasionally encounter a error issue. However, I'm not sure what the problem is and how to resolve it. The issues are as follows: During the experiment, Chemstation suddenly stops receiving signals from the instrument. The data file only records up to the point before the issue occurs. After the issue occurs, even if the run time exceeds the set duration, Chemstation still shows "RUN" in progress at the top left screen, but the instrument state in the middle screen displays "Idle." The run needs to be manually stopped or Chemstation restarted to return to normal. Checking the log files shows no abnormal records. If anyone has any solutions, please let me know. Thanks.

Hello,

I would suggest you open a ticket with your local support group on this issue. The are other logs beyond the run and sequence logs, they can look at, that may have more information. I would guess that communication with the instrument has stopped for some reason, possibly the instrument hardware or the network connection. You can check the network connection between the GC and computer possibly replace the cable, switch or try a new network port depending on your setup. On the computer if you have an AV make sure all the exclusions are setup correctly per the install documentation.
