Message "data system NOT accepting sequences"

Hello everyone,

We recently acquired an UPLC-MS system with an OpenLab CDS software. Sometimes, just after the beginning of a sequence a message appears in the "run queue" window. This message is : "Active Queue: data system NOT accepting sequences (the current methos has been modified. Save or discard the changes". The sequence still runs and we succeed in getting our results. So, we were wondering : what does it mean and why do we have this message?

Moreover, we observed that when a method is loaded, the software always says that we changed the method even if it is not the case and ask us if we want the changes to be saved. Do you know why?

Best Regards,

Elodie

  • Dear sir,

im facing the same problem but during initialization of chemstation it says that licensing error. there is and option for retry, when i click that it starts the chemstation but i could not do anything once sequence table opened. It just froze. Need to open task manager to close. could not run sequence.

  • Hi

Which chemstation you are using...Open Lab or chemstation.

    Instrument detail?

  • This problem came suddenly during operation.

Or after installing fresh software in computer.

  • chemstation. it happened after sudden power off day before and unable to open the software. i folowed one of the thread here and changed 4 files to .old then it can be opened but it is showing licensing error which is ok if i click retry but im unable to build sequence.

  • If you are using openlab chemstation, then following reason possible:

1.For OpenLAB CDS EZChrom Edition A.02.01/A.04.06 at least Update 1 must be installed; otherwise the license will not been recognized. Check OpenLAB driver installation disk, the required update can be found there.

    2.

If you create a license in your SubscribeNet account for a workstation installation, you must not enter the computer name in the corresponding form. If any other name will be entered, the license will not work. Unfortunately, this information is missing on the licensing webpage.

    3.

The OpenLAB license is bound to the MAC address of a network adapter of the computer. If your computer is equipped with more than one network adapter (more than one network card, wireless LAN, cellular phone network), OpenLAB may not show the correct MAC address. The license permanently only works, if it is created for the MAC address of the network card for the chromatographic system. To check the available network adapters in the Windows Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center; there click on the link change adapter setting on the left side. All of the installed network adapters will be shown. In the properties of a network adapter the MAC address will be shown.

    4.

In very rare cases the Agilent OpenLAB Instrument Server is stopped. This service is necessary for opening an instrument. To check if the service runs, open the Windows Task Manager, select the tab “Services” and click on the button <Services…> in the bottom of the window. In the list of available services check, if the status of the service Agilent OpenLAB Instrument Server is on “Started”. If not, start it; the Startup type should be set on “Automatic”.

  • And if you are using any other chemstation then you can run that chemstation CD to repair the config file.

You can add license and instrument by using below PDF.

You can see license in computer.
