Using *.L library files in OpenLAB CDS 2.x Data Analysis

In OpenLAB CDS 2.x Data Analysis there is not a native way to use the HP/Agilent MSD Chemstation Data Analysis *.L library files, including NIST and also custom libraries.

To use these *.L libraries in OpenLAB CDS 2.x, you first have to convert the libraries to the NIST format using the "lib2nist.exe" program.  The location and instructions are below.

You can use the MS data conversion program called “lib2nist.exe” that is located in C:\NIST14\MSSEARCH directory where you install the NIST program.

Run the .exe, point to the .L file (e.g., “demo.L”) for input library, select “NIST MS Library” for output format, point the output to the same location as the NIST library (for example, C:\NIST14\MSSEARCH). This is the default path for the NIST library. In DA, you should be able to see the converted library (e.g., “demo.HP”) from the “MS Library” pull down menu.

To search multiple libraries in OpenLAB CDS 2.x you can create different processing methods each with their own library selected.
