Add Report Template in Available Template Column

Dear all,

I am currently working on modifying a report template for the FTIR system.

The instrument computer did not have Microsoft Word installed prior to the MicroLab installation. Due to the company SOP, we are not allowed to install any additional software on the qualified system.

Therefore, I have to modify the template on a separate computer.

However, after making the modifications, I am unable to find an option in the application to add the template to the "Available Report Templates" column.(Please see attached picture)

Could anyone gives a hint for the procedure please?

I found the location of the default templates in the Unicode folder and the rpt folder,

but adding the modified template to these locations does not seem to work.

The User manual also have no instructions.

Thank you so much for any help.

  • Hi JakeZ,

I am sorry you are having trouble seeing your new report template in MicroLab PC. This is most likely due to the RPTTemplates.txt file. This file contains the definitions for the list of templates. You can find it in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Agilent\MicroLab\Results by default. This file has a line for every template to be seen in the list. The first part is the name that it will appear as. The second part is the path of the template. And finally, the third part tell MicroLab PC what type of method uses the report. It looks like the type you are looking for is QUAL form your screen shoot. Please see an example below. Please let me know if this works for you.

    OilReport.docx C:\Users\Public\Documents\Agilent\MicroLab\RptTemplates\OilReport.docx QUAL

  • Hi JakeZ,

I assume you have saved the new/updated report template under a new file name? Did you also change the "report template name" in the Report Designer (in MS Word)?

This is the name that is then displayed in the MicroLab software.

Maybe the instructions in this document (page: 27ff - Chapter 4 - Generating and Implementing Report Templates) are helpful: Instrument Qualification of the Cary 630 FTIR in Accordance with Japanese Pharmacopeia (JP)

    Best regards,

    Fabian

  • Dear Andrew,

Thank you so much for your reply.

It works perfectly. I'm able to add the modified template in the column.

Another question: could you tell me how to modify the E-signature to make it look a little cleaner? Is that possible?

Why do EsignerFullName, EsigState, EsignerUserID, and EsigDesc not display anything in the report results?

Sorry for so many questions, really new to the software.

    Thank you again.

    Jake

  • Dear Fabianz,

Thank you for your tip. I was confused because the same name report template showed up after I added the modified template.
