Setting up Cary Eclipse with GPIB-USB cable

Hi everyone

We changed computers to a model that doesn't have PCI slots only the non-backward compatible PCI Express. We only have PCI GPIB cards. To resolve the problem we bought a GPIB-USB cable and am trying to install the Cary Eclipse software to get our Eclipse working again.

We can't the software to work with this setup. Usually it won't connect to the instrument and either times out or gives a variety of errors and even when it does connect, it hangs as soon as you perform things like scanning.

I spoke to Agilent and tried their suggestions in terms of the order in which to install things but no success.

Has anyone used these GPIB-USB cables successfully and if so what are the magic steps with Windows 10

Thanks

Kevin
