HI BDT, the diagnostics sw is for engineers use only. I you want to check performance, you can use the Validate application and run the 'Instrument Performance Tests'. These should give you a correct indication of the current state.
Another good indicator is to open the software before you power on the instrument: when the software is opened (any app), power on the instrument and watch the initialization. If there's an issue, this will prompt an error, either mid-screen or in the left bottom corner in the status bar.
