Spikes in Absorbance with Cary 5000

Hello, we have a problem with Cary 5000. After a few measurements, the absorption spectra in the region 700-800 nm start showing large random weird absorption spikes (positive and negative as you can see in the picture) and the spikes are progressing towards lower wavelengths with continuing measurements. Please, do you have any idea what could be wrong?

    Hi Lukas,

    have you checked the base instrument performance via the Validate application? Are all instrument performance tests passing, without using any accessory?

    You can easily access the IPT via Validate > Tests > Instrument Performance Tests > OK > Start. You might want to have a look at the uncorrected baseline in the Baseline Flatness test in that region and look for anything out of the ordinary. A slight bump at 800 nm is expected due to grating- and detector change overs.
