Where can I find a new xenon lamp for a Cary 50?
What is a reasonable price for one?
Thanks in advance.

The Cary 50 Zenon lamp is part number 110639690 and is still available from Agilent.
The $3,394 price seems out of line with what it is.
Hello:
The Cary 50 is out of support. Contact your local Agilent office to find out if there are any repair options. Given the obsolescence of the Cary 50, now may the time to contact Agilent sales for a quote on a Cary 60. It uses the same 'low cost of ownership' Xenon flash lamp.
Best regards,
Mike

Yes, the Cary 60 uses the same $3394 lamp, so the lamp is not obsolete!
Are you certain the lamp needs to be replaced? When you power on the Cary 50 do you hear the buzzing of the xenon flash lamp? If so, you may just need to align the source mirror or there may be another issue other than the lamp.
Thanks. Good point. The system has been sitting unused for ~10 y. And it didn't get used heavily in the 6 years before that. I hear the lamp firing. The white light spot is not as bright as I remember and it the intensity within the spot seemed to fluctuate spatially. I would not be surprised if it was an alignment issue. I can check that later this week.
I just moved it over to a working computer and installed Cary WinUV v3.1. I think the system said the lamp life was 0.0012. and the signal strength was 4-5. I have the service manual.
I aligned the lamp. very little improvement. I'm not sure there is anything wrong with it. I just figure a lamp would be ~$300-500.
What are the symptoms of a bad lamp?
The align app displays the lamp life remaining. What is that measuring? It was actually going up from one small number it a bigger small number while I was doing the alignment.
After lamp alignment, I would suggest running the instrument performance tests:

The % lamp life is the lamp life used of the Xenon lamp.
