Software issues

Question

I am using a Cary 8453 uv-vis spectrophotometer using Agilent ChemStaion ( run in Windows XP) software. Suddenly I can not open the software ( i.e Instrument -1 online) due to configuration related issues. 
 It is showing 1.File for _ CONFIG not found . 2. Can not load config register . 
 Plz help how to overcome this issue.

Hello Palash, 
 First of all thank you for raising your concern, Your Instrument Agilent 8453 UV , current software version are old & obsolete now, plus you are using on WINDOWS XP OS PC i.e. also out of support from Microsoft. Hope you have tried re-installing software on formatted PC. Will recommend to get it checked with Local Agilent Engineer onsite(Could be a chargeable activity). Based upon his/her recommendation you can take further action.

 The config.reg file is corrupted or missing. The software will need to be reloaded.
