How can I convert an .xml library back into a .L library in MassHunter 12

Entry KPR#:712184 this feature has been removed from current revisions. 

Are you trying to use the library in another program? It is possible to export in JCAMP format. MSD ChemStation can import that and create a .L library. And NIST offers a free tool to convert JCAMP to their format and a few others.

I have a library that was created in an older version of Chemstation in *.L format. I want to edit the library adding retention indeces  I can open it in the Library Editor but it opens it as read only.  I can open it with the Library editor, copy it into a new *.mslibrary.xml library where I can edit it but I cant save it back to a *.L library. I need the *.L library to use the Library in MassHunter.

Im sorry.  It's Chemstation that won't let me load the mslibrary.xml format library.  So once I edit the library, I am unable to use it in Chemstation.  I am using Chemstation version F.01.03.2365

You can edit the .L in F.01.03.

I'm trying to add retention Index to all of my entries. In Chemstation I have to open each entry one at a time to edit.  The mslibrary.xml lets me open the whole library and edit like a spreadsheet.  I have several thousand entries.

That is correct. In MSD Chemstation you have to edit one at a time.

Now you can edit is in Library Editor and Export as JCAMP. MSD chemation can import the JCAMP to a .L.
