Report Builder

Hello everyone,

I am looking for help/guidance with Report Builder software (10.2.1). It is extremely frustrating that Agilent has still not created a document that provides adequate details on how to use their software.

I am running a method that quantifies 84 different analytes in a sample. The list of analytes in MassHunter Acquisition and Quantitation method both list all analytes in alphabetical order. However, when I go to print the report, which I created using Report Builder 10.2.1, the analytes are listed in the order of retention time and not alphabetically. Does anyone know how to get Report Builder to list analytes in alphabetical order. Thanks!!

  • Hello  ,

Most of the shipping templates have compounds ordered by retention time. This can be changed by selecting the compound list or table and editing the Data Binding. Select the current ordering item, choose Edit, and then select what field to sort by.

  • Hello Howard,

Thank you for your quick reply, I really appreciate it. I saw you provided similar instructions previously to a similar question as mine. I just went to my Report Builder software to see if I am able to make the edits you suggested. Unfortunately, when I click on {v:CompoundName} in Report Builder to try to make the edits, no Data Binding window opens to allow me to make these edits. The closes I get is a properties window that allows me to edit font size and a few other things. I see there is a Binding Name field in the right-most column, but no Data Binding field.  Where am I able to find the Data Binding window and field?

    Thanks for your help!

    David

  • Hello  ,

To access the Data Bindings, you must select the table or list that contains the field. To do this you can right click on field in the table, then choose Select>, and then choose the next table or list in the hierarchy. In the above example, I would choose Table (Results)

Now with the table or list selected, you can right click within the highlighted section and choose Data Bindings, or you can click on the ... in the Data Bindings field in the properties pane. You can also use the drop-down box in the properties pane to scroll through to find the list or table and then access the Data Bindings.

If the table doesn't contain the bindings, then right click and select the next item, which is usually a list that will have the bindings.

  • Thank you, Howard!!! It worked!

I really appreciate your help with this … I spent 3 days, off-and-on, trying to figure this out. Thanks!

    Best regards,

    David
