Report Builder issues Editing templates

Question

Hello, 
 I am using Report Builder version 12.1. 
 Can you edit templates available in this folder? 
 D:\MassHunter\Report Templates\Quant\PDF-Reporting 
 The same as indexed in a file called: INDEX_Quant_PDF_Reports.xls 
 I cannot open these templates in Report Builder even though they are xml files? I would like to edit them. 
 Most of the reports in the D:\MassHunter\Report Templates\Quant\PDF-ReportBuilder\Quant folder are meant for PDF reporting. 
 Generally I want to report out excel tables (or csv if I have too) not PDF's. Most of the reports designed for pdfs are too different and thus hard to edit in report builder.

 The templates in the PDF-Reporting folder are Python based and cannot be edited in Report Builder. Details on working with these can be found by installing the SDK. See this discussion for details.

 The output type for these templates cannot be changed in the report method as they are hard coded. Some of the templates include the output type in their name. You can always check in the report method for the extension of the Destination file to verify. 
 The Report Builder templates can output as PDF, TEXT, or CSV. The summary and LIMs shipping templates are suitable starting places for Report Builder CSV output if desired.
