MassHunter Unknowns Analysis - Percent area not showing up for manual integration

Hello,

I have setup a custom report to show % Area of GCMS peaks in MassHunter Unknowns Analysis 12.0, however the report fails to generate when using manual integrations!
Upon checking Unknowns Analysis, the Area % field is not populated for the manually integrated component. Do I have to setup the report to calculate the % Area for my peak or is there an in-software solution for this?

For background, TIC analysis is used as the peak detection method, and the Component Area field is populated as usual.

I appreciate your help with this matter.

  • Hello  ,

This was a known issue reported in Version 10.1, though it shows as fixed in Version 11.0.

I have tried to duplicate what you are describing in Version 12.0, and I have found that if you start trying to manually create components while the method is still set to Deconvolution this will occur. Once the method is set to TIC Analysis and applied to the samples then area % calculates as expected, even if the method is not run first.

The only other time I can make this occur is if I select too small of a range for manual component creation. But then no ions peaks are shown and no area is displayed.

This is on SQ GC/MS scan data. Let me know if you are using some other type of data or what your exact workflow if you are still seeing this issue.
