[URGENT] MassHunter Qualitative Analysis (Qual) — Export GC–TCD integrations (as CSV)

Can one export the integrations of the TCD (thermal conductivity detection) peaks in MassHunter Qualitative Analysis (preferably as CSV)? I can already work with the MSD peaks (EIC or TIC); I now only need a simple way to save the areas of all the peaks identified in a TCD (or any additional chromatogram, for what is worth) measurement in Qual.

If I could also receive information on how to customize these exported CSVs (so as to remove some unnecessary columns, for example), I would be highly appreciative.

  • Hello  ,

You can enable the Peak table for any signal type, right click, choose Export... and select CSV.

You can right click on a column header to change the columns displayed and click and drag to rearrange the columns.

If you use Excel reporting then you can choose to print a Custom/Analysis report and save the output as an Excel file, which could then be saved as a CSV. There is currently not a direct way to report to CSV.

There is help available for customizing the Excel templates within Excel on the MASSHUNTER REPORTING tab.

  • Thank you for your answer. We are already following the first approach you mentioned (exporting the peak table as CSV for the TCD data). However, we would also be interested in Excel reporting. The issue is that whenever we "Export integrations as CSV" (our method for exporting data for MSD measurements which works flawlessly), we cannot find the TCD data there, even if we had extracted and integrated the additional chromatograms. Although the TCD chromatogram shows up in the menu, in no way have we so far been able to find it in the Excel report. Only MSD data shows up there. There's perhaps some setting that toggles between reporting MS chromatograms and additional chromatograms, but we have failed to find it.

  • Hello  ,

The custom workflow options to Export all Chromatograms or Integration Results to CSV does not currently include non-MS signals. This issue has been logged but there is currently no timeline for when a resolution will be available.

For now, to get the Excel report output you would need to choose Generate Custom Report. Make certain your Reports are set to Use Microsoft Excel and set the Destination to save as an Excel file.

  • Thank you, Howard Sanford. My original question inquired precisely about exporting the integrations of non-MS signals (specifically TC). For the time being, this manual solution we are employing works well. We are eagerly waiting for an update from Agilent that supports these signals too.

  • Hello  ,

The Excel reporting option above will output all signals, both MS and non-MS. It is only the Export All to CSV options that don't include non-MS signals. The only drawback is that it will only produce Excel output, but these can be saved as CSV.
