no exhaust in lab

say you had an instrument room with 8-10 mass specs, all running with vacuum pumps without any exhaust system. besides the obvious issues, could it also be that the proportion of nitrogen in the room is higher than it should be (since there is no air replacement system) and this could cause health effects on staff who are in the room for a long time? The many L/min of nitrogen (over 300 L/min in our lab) are not just disappearing, its going into the room. An exhaust system with air replacement is what is normally used in labs for this, right ?
