You should be able to select "no injection". This may be the most useful for what it looks like you are trying to do.
Thanks! This is useful :)
On the same note of contaminations, is there a way to set up on the system to do an automatic flush/wash without going through the column?
I’m hoping to use the second set of solvent lines to insert some flushing in between runs with a stronger solvent like MeOH.
edit: also wondering if it is not possible to set up something automatic, whether or not flushing the column through with 100% MeOH is ok for the column
Hi SueannL
What SW are you using? You should be able to set up a wash method and include it in your worklist/sequence table. However for it to automatically not pump solvent through the column, you will need a column switching valve set up in your column compartment (and set the valve position in the wash method accordingly). Without a column switching valve, you will need to manually swap the column out with union.
Would you be able to share the model and part # of your column? It is best to check this with our technical experts in the Consumables area.

It’s mass hunter software. We don’t have a switching valve so I guess it will have to be manual. Thanks for the advice!
