I believe it is regular case: two solvents --less polar one is ACN with 0.1% TFA, more polar one is water with 0.1% TFA. Thanks for your suggestion,
Thanks abasdeo, sounds the issue which i am also suspicious to. I do not know the QUAT pump model from appearance (G1311A), there is a number shown at small part near the valve: 0491-0131. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PUMP PRESSURE SENSOR, is it easy to fix or replace it? Thanks,
If assume everything okay but still pressure not zero then doubt will go on Damping unit of pump because damping give pressure signal to LPM board of pump.
I will suggest to call your local agilent suppprt to check this because pump need to open to see exact root cause.
Thanks
THANKS ISHITIYAK! Good to learn about this damper part. Also of note, the pumps still work and the flow rate can be controlled --- just the pressure reading stays wrong. Perhaps it is tolerated somewhat and we can use it temporarily before a thorough fix... Thanks again for your suggestions and prompt replies!
Hi andrew3025
Not sure how well a pump would react to being left with TFA in it. I would definitely give the system a good long flush with water (possibly hot water), and maybe then isopropanol, to see if there is some residue causing the faulty readings.
Other than that, it looks like a repair job is needed
Andy
Thanks Andy for your suggestions! I will try to do more flush.
