Purge  valve leaks_AGilent 1260

Hello, this is the purge valve you have installed on the head of the pump? If yes, I usually never change the gold seal, but I only take it out for the ptfe frit change, then I'm reistalling the same gold seal.

If the leak is on

A : replace the nut and the tubing

B : probably the gold seal is not perfectly adapted, change it again.

B "MacGyver version" : use teflon on the thread...at least you won't see any drop  

Alway, never overtight it, it get stuff worse.

Now the valve is ok and there’s no more leak, maybe now the frit is soaked by the mobile phase and fits better?!

If you are changing frit and gold cap then before installing dip it in mobile phase for at least 5 minutes in beaker.

After this, you can replace frit n gold cap..

Please don't use teflon or whatsoever in purge valve fittings, you got to avoid this material entering the system; the risk of entire LC system contamination is too high.

What kind of purge valve is that? I don't see the PV O-rings P/N 5067-6595. I suggest you to change the gold seal cap assemby P/N 5067-4728, and to use teflon while the spare parts arrive; and better, to replace the entire purge valve, P/N G7111-60061.

We use LC 1290/1260/1100 with these 2 purge valve in our lab.

I agree-Please DO Not use Teflon...  

Thank you  a lot for your answer, I am not using the Teflon inside the purge valve and I clean it with the solvent  acetonitrile   so as to avoid the  contented,

The O-ring is the P/N 5067-6595 1260 PV O-ring FKM5lpack it's cut so I think it is the real problem. and I cant buy another one  for now so  I ask for advice
