Error in GC-MSD sequence

Can someone help me?

When programming a sequence in Masshunter 10.0.368, after finishing "n" injections, 1, 2, 5, 10, n... the software stops (although it says it is running) you can also enter the different parameters, such as GC etc., only the stop option is blocked. (Ex: injection 5 was performed, sample01, the run ended. The 6th one continues, sample02)
At the bottom the error appears:
cannot open file C:\users\GC6850-MSD\desktop\data\sample01\acqmeth.txt
That is the path where I save the acquisitions.
And from there the sequence does not continue and I must restart the software to restart the batch

  • The acqmeth.txt file contains the sampler, GC, and MS parameters as used to run the sample and is created underneath each sample's xxxxx.D subdirectory.

Did it work using this same method, sequence, and data file pathway before?  What sampler is being used?   Is this a new sequence or did you edit one? Do you use compliance mode?

An easy test is to create a new sequence from default.s, and try running that sequence saving to the local computer's default data file location plus a subdirectory, like: d:\GCMS\1\data\ 22Nov2024\

  • Hi, thanks
The sequence progresses and acquires normally, only after an "n" injection the error appears for the next vial. To inject I use a PAL, the sequence was edited from a previous 40 vial sequence that worked perfectly.
So, according to the suggestions, and it is of my greatest interest, the error is not related to the software itself, but possibly to something else, such as the path in which I am saving the data?

  • The fact that it worked before in the previous 40 vial sequence says it's not the software itself.  The error could be related to either an edited sequence or the path. The easiest way to troubleshoot is to make a new sequence to the default path. If that works, then it's not a software bug/defect for sure.
