Determine mass resolution (instrument and method) GC-MS Agilent 5975 C with FWHM method

I would need to find the mass resolution of my instrument (Agilent 5975 C mass spectrometer; coupled to GC; EI ionization; quadrupole for mass separation; scan mode) and the GC method I am using. I would like to use the FWHM method - but for this I need the peak width at the respective m/z. Unfortunately, I do not know how to display this in the software I am using (MSD ChemStation E. 02.02. 1431 189-2011 Agilent Technologies, Inc).

Can this be determined by the FWHM of the m/z obtained from the reference solution during the autotune? In autotune, the FWHM peak width is always 0.6 - so it changes the resolution at each of the m/z (it gets bigger the higher the m/z of the peak is.) I know that I would need the peak width at a given m/z to determine the mass resolution, but I don't know how to get to the m/z peaks with the software or equipment I am using. The m/z are only displayed as columns.

597Xx systems are defined as Unit Mass resolution instruments though they are better than that. The tune adjusts the system to get the same peak width at the three tune masses. Default is 0.6 amu,but is editable using the tune wizard or by manually tuning. Since the Single Quad mass spectrometers are usually tuned to give 0.6 amu at every mass that would mean the resolution calculation would only need to be done one time unless you are required to do it for every ion of every sample peak?

You cannot get mass profile data with MSD Chemstation acquisition software. It is a selection in MassHunter Acquisition.

If you need higher resolution you either need to purchase a GC-Q/TOF or take a look at Accurate mass analysis software, single quadrupole mass spec | Agilent . You would also need to purchase and install MassHunter Acquisition to get the required profile scan data files.
