How do I add a known compound to my library?

Hello,

I'm very new to GC-MS. We have 7890B GC with 5977B MSD & 7697A HS. I am tasked with quantifying samples for a known compound. I have run this compound qualitatively to make sure it is in the library and, unfortunately, it is not giving me any positive identifications. The unidentified compounds fall in line from what I have seen through other sources (e.g, PubChem), though. So how can I add this known compound into my own library?

Which library? What is your lower hit limit in your library search? It might find it then.

When Quant was loaded, the Library Editor program was also loaded. The help inside that program is quite useful! On my system I had to click on Help, then search for Library Editor to actually get to the help...the original link was bad.

There are classes available to learn it deeper: Agilent Technologies (viewcentral.com) and Agilent Technologies (viewcentral.com)
