FAULT B det type mismatch

Question

We recently swapped out an EPC from an Agilent 6890 (with 5973 MS) in order to troubleshoot another 6890. Once the troubleshooting was complete the EPC was reinstalled. I now get a FAULT "B det type mismatch" that does not allow the GC to reach a ready state. Other than the 5973 MS, there are no other detectors connected to this GC. How can I fix or clear this FAULT?

We discovered that the ribbon cable from an auxilary module (we don't use) was plugged into the wrong location. This happened during our troubleshooting process. When the ribbon cable was plugged into the correct location (or not at all since we don't use it) the fault went away and the GC could return to a ready state.
