5973 Tune Failure

5973 was running fine a week ago. Now it's giving "Tune Action Stopped: Gain and offset = 0 and peaks are too narrow!" error. Restored an old tune with no luck and also reconfigured system in ChemStation with no luck. Any leads to chase?

  • Always start with the easiest things first. Peaks are too narrow could be no peaks. Is there PFTBA in the vial? Can you feel it click when you start a tune?  In Manual tune, Spectrum Scan, can you see that something happens when you turn on the filament?   What about when you try filament 2?  What is the vacuum reading?  How long since the source was cleaned? The filament(s) changed?  The pump oil changed?  What about GC inlet and column maintenance?   I had one like this a long time ago where the column had broken and the leak was so bad that there were no tune ion peaks to find in the tune.
